Results and complications following lens implants after intracapsular extraction in 226 patients are reported. Visual acuity greater than 5/10 was regained in 80 p. cent of the cases. The authors emphasize the development of intolerance manifestations to the lens (iritis, uveitis, sterile hypopion, cystoid macula oedema). Early detection of these complications, and their treatment by massive doses of corticoids should produce healing in the majority of cases.
