The incidence of cervical cancer continues to rise in underdeveloped regions due to low human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates and inadequate screening systems. To achieve convenient, rapid, and accurate detection of HPV, we developed a three-wire lateral flow strip assay system based on dual-OR logic gates for rapid and simultaneous detection of HPV subtypes 16 and 18 in a single test. The system combines three-branch-catalytic hairpin assembly (TCHA)-mediated signal amplification with simple OR logic gate-based signal output to improve detection rates while enabling HPV 16/18 subtype identification.

Platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB), an important protein biomarker, is closely associated with tumorigenesis. Therefore, it is important to develop a simple and sensitive method to detect PDGF-BB. Herein, we developed a dual recycling signal amplification strategy for colorimetric and sensitive detection of PDGF-BB using a PDGF-BB specific aptamer.

Ensuring boar sperm quality before insemination is crucial for maximizing field fertility and efficient pig production. The computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA) and fluorescence probes combined with flow cytometry (FC) are commonly used techniques for evaluating sperm kinematics and functions, closely related to animal fertility. However, their high cost and complex operations make it challenging to apply them in laboratories or pig breeding farms with limited resources.

This research focuses on the selective detection of Hg2+ ions using hybrid nanosensors composed of rhodamine building blocks linked to polyamine units of varying chain lengths to produce Rho1-Rho4, which were subsequently conjugated with thioctic acid (RT1-RT4) and attached to the surface of gold nanoparticles to create hybrid nanosensors (GRT1-GRT4) designed for detecting heavy metals. The chemical structures, purity, morphology, and chemical composition were characterized through XRD, NMR, TEM, ATR-FTIR, and mass spectrometry. These hybrid nanosensors demonstrated excellent selectivity and sensitivity in colorimetric and fluorescence responses towards Hg2+, outperforming other metal ions.

Flavokavain B (FKB), a hepatotoxic chalcone from (kava), has raised safety concerns due to its role in disrupting redox homeostasis and inducing apoptosis in hepatocytes. Conventional chromatographic methods for FKB detection, while sensitive, are costly and impractical for field applications. In this work, DNA aptamers were selected using the library-immobilized method and high-throughput sequencing.
