Background: Although surviving sepsis campaign (SSC) guidelines are the standard for sepsis and septic shock management, outcomes are still unfavourable. Given that perfusion pressure in sepsis is heterogeneous among patients and within the same patient; we evaluated the impact of individualized hemodynamic management via the transcranial Doppler (TCD) pulsatility index (PI) on mortality and outcomes among sepsis-induced encephalopathy (SIE) patients.
Methods: In this prospective, single-center randomized controlled study, 112 patients with SIE were randomly assigned.

To evaluate the association of parenteral epinephrine and terbutaline use on ventilatory support in children admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) with critical asthma in the United States. Data were obtained from the Pediatric Health Information System data base for children ages 2 to 18 years admitted to the ICU with a diagnosis of asthma exacerbation from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2023. The primary outcomes included noninvasive ventilation (NIV) and/or invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) use after receipt of terbutaline and/or epinephrine.

Background: Surgical resection of locally advanced or borderline pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is a recognized procedure with curative intent performed in specialized oncology centers. Postoperative dysautonomia such as gastroparesis, mild hypotension, and diarrhea are common in elderly patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy. Background: As the burden of cardiovascular disease grows, so does the number of cardiac surgeries. Surgery is increasingly performed on older people with comorbidities who are at higher risk of developing perioperative complications such as low cardiac output state (LCOS). Surgery-associated LCOS represents a serious pathology responsible for substantial morbidity and mortality.
