The sheep desmochorionic placenta has been studied at aseptic inflammation produced by suturing it together with the uterus. The inflammatory process is evident from a decreased intensity of leucocytic phase and trophoblast participation in macrophagal phase; cytotrophoblastic elements and diplocariocytes transform into symplastic structures which seem to accomplish dendritic lysis and resorption. The foreign body incapsulation is performed with the maternal and fetal connective tissue participation.
