Background: Pulse pressure variation (PPV) is limited in low tidal volume mechanical ventilation. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate whether passive leg raising (PLR)-induced changes in PPV can reliably predict preload/fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated patients with low tidal volume in the intensive care unit.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were screened for diagnostic research relevant to the predictability of PPV change after PLR in low-tidal volume mechanically ventilated patients.

Introduction: In a low-income country, the impact of preoperative anemia on postoperative mortality among noncardiac surgery patients is little understood. As a result, we aim to investigate the association between preoperative anemia and postoperative mortality in noncardiac surgery patients in Northwest Ethiopia.
Methods: This is a prospective follow-up study of 3506 noncardiac surgery patients who were included in the final analysis between June 1, 2019, and July 1, 2021.

The formula-based estimation of the right internal jugular venous (IJV) catheterization depth can be inaccurate when using ultrasound guidance. External landmark-based and radiological landmark-based methods have been proposed as alternatives to estimate the insertion depth. This study aimed to evaluate these methods using transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)-guided insertion depth as the reference.

Background: Hypotension is associated with organ injury and death in surgical and critically ill patients. In clinical practice, treating hypotension remains challenging because it can be caused by various underlying haemodynamic alterations. We aimed to identify and independently validate endotypes of hypotension in big datasets of surgical and critically ill patients using unsupervised deep learning.

Background And Objectives: This study aims to analyze the global trends and current status of perioperative cognitive function protection for preventing postoperative delirium(PCFP-POD), as well as to predict research hotspots.
Methods: We conducted a literature search on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and selected articles published between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2023, related to PCFP-POD. The retrieved data were subjected to bibliometric analysis and visualization using CiteSpace 6.
