Leaf Photosynthetic and Respiratory Thermal Acclimation in Terrestrial Plants in Response to Warming: A Global Synthesis.

Glob Chang Biol

January 2025

Key Laboratory of National Forestry and Grassland Administration on Forest Ecosystem Protection and Restoration of Poyang Lake Watershed, College of Forestry, Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, China.

Leaf photosynthesis and respiration are two of the largest carbon fluxes between the atmosphere and biosphere. Although experiments examining the warming effects on photosynthetic and respiratory thermal acclimation have been widely conducted, the sensitivity of various ecosystem and vegetation types to warming remains uncertain. Here we conducted a meta-analysis on experimental observations of thermal acclimation worldwide.

20-HETE mediates Ang II-induced cardiac hypertrophy via ROS and Ca signaling in H9c2 cells.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Department of Physiology, Zunyi Medical University, Campus No.1 Road, Xinpu New District, Zunyi, 563006, Guizhou, China.

In the vascular system, angiotensin II (Ang II) mediated vasoconstriction by inducing the production of 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE). However, the role of 20-HETE in Ang II-induced cardiac dysfunction had yet to be fully elucidated. This study investigated the effects of Ang II on CYP4A expression and 20-HETE production in H9c2 cells using RT-qPCR, Western blot, and ELISA.

Identifying dissolved reactive phosphorus sources in agricultural runoff and leachate using phosphate oxygen isotopes.

J Contam Hydrol

January 2025

USDA ARS, National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory, West Lafayette, IN 47907, United States of America.

Agricultural phosphorus (P) losses may result from either recently applied fertilizers or from P accumulated in soil and sediment. While both P sources pose an environmental risk to freshwater systems, differentiating between sources is crucial for identifying and implementing management practices to decrease loss. In this study, laboratory rainfall simulations were completed on runoff boxes and undisturbed soil columns before and after fertilizer application.

Spontaneous immobilization of single atom in NbCT MXene as excellent nanozyme for detecting and preventing gastric mucosal injury.

Biosens Bioelectron

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Organic Integrated Circuit, Ministry of Education & Tianjin Key Laboratory of Molecular Optoelectronic Sciences, Department of Chemistry, School of Science, Tianjin University, Tianjin, 300072, China. Electronic address:

Early diagnosis and treatment of gastric mucosal injury is crucial to prevent further gastritis and even canceration. As an efficient biocatalyst, single-atom nanozyme (SAzyme) is proposed to be an ideal candidate for the construction of multifunctional platforms. Nevertheless, SAzyme still faces challenges in detecting and treating diseases due to the complexity of preparation methods, limitations of enzyme activity, and undesirable biocompatibility.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the role and mechanism of -hydroxyl cinnamaldehyde (CMSP) in triggering ferroptosis of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) cells.

Methods: The impact of CMSP on ferroptosis in H1688 and SW1271 cells was assessed through cell experiments and biological information analysis. Moreover, the expression of heme oxygenase 1 (HMOX1) in SCLC tissue was examined.
