Treatment of Massive rotator cuff tears (MRCT) is difficult, with high rates of retears. Using biological augmentation in the form of the highly vascular subacromial bursa, was used to improve tendon healing. This work aimed to evaluate the results of arthroscopic guided mini-open transosseous repair with bursal augmentation in the treatment of MRCTs in a five-step approach.

Amyloidosis is a deadly systemic disease in which misfolded proteins accumulate in human tissue eventually leading to morbid dysfunction in multiple organ systems. The prognosis of untreated amyloidosis is poor. Orthopedic manifestations of amyloidosis include carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), trigger digit, distal biceps tendon rupture, rotator cuff disease, and lumbar spinal stenosis.

Background: Posterior malleolus fractures may be fixed to restore syndesmosis stability. However, these fractures are often accompanied by ruptures of other ligaments that stabilize the syndesmosis. This study investigates the frequency of anterior syndesmosis injury in posterior malleolus fractures and its effect on rotational stability.

Purpose: Shoulder arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tears with simultaneous treatment of lesions of the long head of the biceps tendon has become increasingly accepted. However, the clinical outcomes between tenotomy and tenodesis remain unclear. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of tenotomy and tenodesis combined with rotator cuff repair in elderly patients with medium-to-massive rotator cuff tears.

Background: Rotator cuff repairs may fail because of compromised blood supply, suture anchor pullout, or poor fixation to bone. To augment the repairs and promote healing of the tears, orthobiologics, such a platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and biologic scaffolds have been applied with mixed results. Adipose allograft matrix (AAM), which recruits native cells to damaged tissues, may also be a potential treatment for rotator cuff tears.
