800 clinical cards of patients whose discharge diagnosis was chronic bronchopathy and essential hypertension have been examined retrospectively. After appropriate statistical calculations, it has been found that the association is not casual either in men or women below the age of 60. In such cases the Student T test gives a result of less than 0.001. The possible pathogenetic mechanisms for this association are discussed in the light of the literature of recent year.
