The hemostasis system was investigated in 95 patients with edema of the pancreas (71) and pancreatonecrosis (24). The alterations found speak of the state of hypercoagulation and activation of aggregation properties of the blood in 74 % of patients with edema of the pancreas and in 80 % of patients with pancreatonecrosis. The data obtained enabled the authors to perform the pathogenetic treatment in 63,1 % of patients by means of anticoagulants of the direct and indirect action in combination with the desaggregative therapy activating fibrinolysis. The treatment was carried on in combination with the generally used methods of surgery and therapy. During the period under consideration there were no lethal outcomes in the group of patients subjected to conservative treatment. The postoperative lethality in pancreatonecrosis decreased from 31,8 % to 27,2 %.
