Introduction: The thyroid gland has a significant impact on the morphofunctional state of the organs of the female reproductive system, the regulation of the ovarian-menstrual cycle, as well as the age-related decline of the generative and endocrine function of the ovaries.

Material And Methods: The study involved 102 women aged 49-62 years, who were divided into 2 groups. Group I included 54 patients who suffered from manifestations of the menopausal syndrome, and the control group comprised 48 patients whose menopausal period proceeded physiologically.

State Key Laboratory of Mariculture Breeding, Key Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology of Fujian Province, Institute of Oceanology, College of Marine Sciences, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China.

In recent years, the abalone aquaculture industry has been threatened by the bacterial pathogens. The immune responses mechanisms underlying the phagocytosis of haemocytes remain unclear in . It is necessary to investigate the immune mechanism in response to these bacterial pathogens challenges.

Article Synopsis
  • * During pregnancy, increased hormone levels can stimulate the growth of malignant struma ovarii, presenting significant management challenges.
  • * Most cases are detected via ultrasound in early pregnancy, but some may only be found during cesarean sections, prompting a discussion on diagnostic and treatment strategies for managing this condition.

The study gives a morphofunctional assessment of the state of the thyroid gland of tundra voles (Microtus oeconomus Pall.) in conditions of an increased radiation background (the Ukhta district of the Komi Republic (Russia) and the 30-km zone of the Chernobyl NPP), as well as in an experiment with chronic external gamma irradiation in the low dose range. The work summarizes the experience of more than 35 years of field and laboratory research.

For different thyroid diseases and hormonal metabolism, ultrasound (US) of the thyroid gland reveals hypoechogenicity. Despite the direct correlation of hypoechogenicity with the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone and antibodies of thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin, ~20% of this correlation is inconsistent, thus restricting the comprehensive utilisation of this valuable diagnostic sign. Thus, it is necessary to investigate the additional circumstances affecting the extent and features of the US hypoechogenicity of the thyroid gland.
