The Experiment Start-Up System (ESS) developed and implemented at the National Center for Toxicological Research constructs models from information contained in experimental protocols. These models may then be used to project resource requirements and related schedules. Each experimental model provides information from which management can determine the raw resources such as quantity of food, water, bedding, cages, animals (sex, strain, species), chemical, facilities, and manpower needed for conducting the experiment. Based upon this information, management can determine if the required resources are available and determine the most feasible "start" date for the new experiment. In addition, the information provided by the experimental model assures the Principal Investigator that the protocol requirements are thoroughly understood by participating technical support groups and that quality control elements of the ESS and other integrated systems will provide a means for accurately monitoring the experiment.

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic disease, the prevalence of which has been increasing in recent years. And the prevalence of patients who test negative with existing diagnostic techniques remains high. It was found that the antigenic BCOADC-E2 protein could detect patients with a negative original test.

Hydrocephalus commonly occurs after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and is associated with increased morbidity and disability in patients with SAH. Choroid plexus cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) hypersecretion, obliterative arachnoiditis occluding the arachnoid villi, lymphatic obstruction, subarachnoid fibrosis, and glymphatic system injury are considered the main pathological mechanisms of hydrocephalus after SAH. Although the mechanisms of hydrocephalus after SAH are increasingly being revealed, the clinical prognosis of SAH still has not improved significantly.

Background: In recent years, titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticles (NPs) have been widely used in various industries due to their favorable chemical properties, and their contamination of the environment has attracted much attention, especially to aquatic animals.
Methods: Therefore, we assessed the impact of TiO NPs (5 mg/L) on the marine bivalve, pearl oyster (), especially gill metabolism. Pearl oysters were exposed to seawater containing 5 mg/L TiO NPs for 14 days, followed by 7 days of recovery in untreated seawater.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), as microbial mutualists, interact with various microbial taxa, including pathogens, and significantly shape the ecology and evolution of their host species. However, how AMF and pathogens jointly or independently affect plant traits and nitrogen uptake remains unclear. Here, we conducted a factorial experiment with three AMF treatments (AMF-free-control, , and a mixture of AMF species of and ), four plant-pathogen pairs, each under two pathogen treatments (one pathogen and a pathogen-free control).
