Immunization with two doses of live Naegleria fowleri produced a survival of 34% of mice compared to 0% in unimmunized controls, whereas multiple doses of live N. fowleri resulted in loss of protective immunity. In contrast, multiple doses of N. fowleri lysate produced a survival of 30%, and multiple doses of N. fowleri culture supernatant produced a survival of 67 to 78%. Fractionation of the culture supernatant by column chromatography showed that all six fractions contained protective antigens, but the best protection occurred from immunization with the high molecular weight fraction (greater than 200,000 daltons).

Background: Syringin (SRG) is well-known for its anti-inflammatory effects. However, its pharmacological mechanisms against rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are not fully understood.
Materials And Methods: We assessed the anti-RA effects of SRG using a collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rat model.
Introduction: Varicella-Zoster virus (VZV) is a highly contagious alpha-herpes virus. The diagnosis of chickenpox remains a difficult task especially in cases of breakthrough chickenpox, so the development of reliable laboratory tests is necessary. The simplest and most sensitive serological test for detecting antibodies in human and animal sera is the passive hemagglutination reaction (PHAR).

Bacteriocin lactococcin036019 was identified and characterized from Lactococcus lactis NCU036019, which displayed significant antibacterial activity toward foodborne pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus under various conditions. However, the in situ low-level expression of lactococcin036019 severely limited its wide application in food industry. In this study, we optimized the medium ingredients and culture conditions of L.

Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are widely used to produce recombinant proteins, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), through various process modes. While fed-batch (FB) processes have been the standard, a shift toward high-density perfusion processes is being driven by increased productivity, flexible facility footprints, and lower costs. Ensuring the clearance of process-related impurities, such as host cell proteins (HCPs), is crucial in biologics manufacturing.
