Background: Long COVID or Post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 is an emerging syndrome, recognized in COVID-19 patients who suffer from mild to severe illness and do not recover completely. Most studies define Long COVID, through symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and headache prevailing four or more weeks post-initial infection. Global variations in Long COVID presentation and symptoms make it challenging to standardize features of Long COVID.

Background: Atopic dermatitis is perhaps the most comprehensively studied skin disease in psychosomatic medicine and psychoneuroimmunology. Its biopsychosocial conceptualization incorporates psychodynamic as well as behavioral and systemic considerations. At the same time, there is also extensive biological knowledge of the neuroendocrine-immune control of barrier and immune function, characterized through animal experiments and translational clinical studies.

Acute presentation of cystic craniopharyngioma is a potentially life-threatening condition, characterized by disability and increased mortality risk, often caused by large cysts with or without hydrocephalus. This study evaluated the applicability of minimally invasive neuroendoscopic surgery (NES) for rapid intracranial pressure relief and tumor control as an alternative to emergent microsurgical resection. A retrospective review of the electronic medical record database of patients with craniopharyngiomas treated at our institution between June 2007 and October 2024 identified 13 non-consecutive cases of acute presentation of cystic craniopharyngioma managed with NES.

Chronic stress and stress-related mental illnesses such as major depressive disorder (MDD) constitute some of the leading causes of disability worldwide with a higher prevalence in women compared to men. However, preclinical research into stress and MDD is heavily biased toward using male animals only. Aberrant activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis has been linked to the development of MDD and several animal models of MDD have been established based on HPA axis dysregulation.
