Postnatal growth patterns of weight, length/height and head circumference in full-term (FTI), preterm (PTI) and small-for-dates (SFDI) infants, are described by using distance and velocity data together with the concept of growth per unit of body weight. The study was performed in 112 healthy Caucasian infants, of a similar socioeconomic status, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Median growth velocity (MGV) and median growth velocity per unit (MGVU) of body size are defined. The authors stress that: (a) growth velocity is related to body mass, (b) a useful evaluation of growth is made by using two consecutive measures with a certain time interval independently of birthweight and gestational age, and (c) expressing growth per day per unit relates well to daily nutritional and other requirements.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the mechanism of Yangxuerongjin pill (YXRJP) in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) by network pharmacology and metabolomics technology combined with animal experiments, and to provide scientific basis for the treatment of DPN.
Methods: In this study, network pharmacology analysis was applied to identify the active compounds, core targets and signal pathways, which might be responsible for the effect of DPN. The DPN model was established by high-fat diet combined with streptozotocin (STZ) injection, and the rats were given administration for 12 weeks.

Shale barriers negatively impact thermal recovery processes of oil sand or ultraheavy oil, particularly during the rising stage of SAGD, by affecting oil flow, steam chamber evolution, and heat distribution. Existing mathematical models for the rising stage of SAGD often overlook the influence of shale barriers on the evolution of the steam chamber and heat distribution. This study includes experiments to investigate the impact of a single shale barrier above the production well during the rising stage of the SAGD.

In order to address many issues, such as the inconsistent and unreliable seeding process in traditional mechanical garlic seed metering systems (SMS), as well as the lack of ability to monitor the effectiveness of the seeding, a highly accurate electric-driven metering system (EDMS) was developed and created specifically for garlic seed planters. This study provided a description of the overall structure and functioning principle, as well as an analysis of the mechanism for smooth transit and delivery. A combination of an infrared (IR) sensor, Arduino Mega board, stepper motor, speed sensor, and a Wi-Fi module was employed to operate the EDMS, as well as monitor and count the quantity of garlic seeds during the planting process and determine the qualified rate (QR) and missing rate (MR).

Background: Early menarche is associated with both physical and psychosocial problems. Based on psychological and physical health considerations, for girls with early menarche, some parents and physicians may elect to use gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa) to delay menstruation. This study aimed to explore the effects of GnRHa treatment on the final height of girls with early menarche and build the models to predict the final adult height (FAH).

Introduction: This study aimed to examine the correlation between the growth response in prepubertal children with idiopathic growth hormone (GH) deficiency after 1 year of treatment with GH to the initial clinical and biochemical parameters. Additionally, the secretion dynamics of GH was also studied by analyzing the GH stimulation test profiles in relation to the GH treatment response.
Methods: This retrospective study included 84 prepubertal children (47 males and 37 females) with a definitive diagnosis of GH deficiency.
