The age-specific incidence of traumatic brain injury in older adults is rising in high-income countries, mainly due to an increase in the incidence of falls. The severity of traumatic brain injury in older adults can be underestimated because of a delay in the development of mass effect and symptoms of intracranial haemorrhage. Management and rehabilitation in older adults must consider comorbidities and frailty, the treatment of pre-existing disorders, the reduced potential for recovery, the likelihood of cognitive decline, and the avoidance of future falls.

As snorkelling and breath-hold diving are conducted in a potentially hostile environment by participants with varying skills and health, fatalities occur. In this study, snorkelling and breath-hold diving fatalities were investigated in Australia from 2000 to 2021 to identify causes and countermeasures. The Australasian Diving Safety Foundation database and the National Coronial Information System were searched to identify snorkelling/breath-hold diving deaths from 2000 to 2021.

A latent profile analysis of the functions of binge eating.

Objective: The aim of this study was to identify naturally occurring groups of individuals experiencing binge eating (BE) symptoms based on their endorsement of varied functions of BE.

Method: Adults (N = 646) with self-reported BE symptoms were examined using latent profile analysis to identify differentiated profiles based on eight established functions of BE. Profiles were also compared on measures of BE symptoms, eating disorder psychopathology, internal shame, body shame, psychological distress, adverse childhood experiences, and demographic variables.

The accessory navicular (AN) is an accessory bone located on the posteromedial aspect of the navicular tuberosity that can cause pain following overuse or trauma, particularly during childhood. However, the detailed epidemiological characteristics of AN in children have not been well studied.
