Introduction: Altered serum levels of growth hormones, adipokines, and exocrine pancreas enzymes have been individually linked with type 1 diabetes (T1D). We collectively evaluated seven such biomarkers, combined with islet autoantibodies (AAb) and genetic risk score (GRS2), for their utility in predicting AAb/T1D status.

Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt, also known as Abernethy malformation, is a rare anatomic vascular malformation. Patients with Abernethy malformation may present with abdominal pain, abnormal liver function tests, hepatopulmonary syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, and/or portosystemic encephalopathy. Accurate identification of the shunt and portal vein and effective management of complications is vital in these patients.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of single-stage stabilization and immediate definitive soft tissue coverage in open ankle fractures compared to closed fractures.

Ichthyoses are a heterogeneous group of diseases sharing symptoms and a common etiopathogenic mechanism. Clinically, these diseases are characterized by the presence of erythema and variable degrees of skin thickening and desquamation. Although the affected area, severity, and molecular substrate are very variable, they are all signs of a disruption of the barrier formed during epidermal differentiation.
