Schistosomiasis poses a significant global health threat, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions like Sudan. Although numerous epidemiological studies have examined schistosomiasis in Sudan, the genetic diversity of Schistosoma haematobium populations, specifically through analysis of the mtcox1 gene, remains unexplored. This study aimed to investigate the risk factors associated with urogenital schistosomiasis among school pupils in El-Fasher, Western Sudan, as well as the mtcox1 genetic diversity of human S.

As 2030 approaches, the World Health Organization's due date for ending intestinal schistosomiasis as a public health problem in all endemic areas, understanding the current trends in the burden of schistosomiasis among schoolchildren in endemic areas is critical for monitoring the progress, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to plan for instant response to mitigate the burden of schistosomiasis. From February to April of 2023, 328 students from three primary schools in Southwest Ethiopia participated in an institution-based cross-sectional study in the detection of Schistosoma mansoni. Intestinal schistosomiasis was identified among 242 school children, with a rate of infection of 73.

Hepato-intestinal schistosomiasis is characterized by severe pathological changes at advanced chronic stages, including granulomatous lesions and liver fibrosis. The objective of our research was to assess the dynamic expression of profibrotic molecules, the transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1), and proinflammatory cytokines immunomodulation induced by interleukin 17 (IL-17) neutralization in murine Schistosomiasis mansoni. The study included 56 specific pathogen-free male C57BL/6 mice, divided into 3 main groups: GI uninfected normal controls, GII S.

Purpose: Schistosomiasis remains a parasitic disease affecting millions of people worldwide, requiring interventions like vaccination. In previous work, our group used reverse vaccinology to identify two epitopes from the Schistosoma mansoni proteins, Sm050890 (44-58) and Sm141290 (225-239). This study evaluated the immune response profile and protection induced by peptides, as a mixture of immunogens, in murine vaccination trials.

Purpose: A comprehensive survey was conducted to assess the prevalence of Schistosoma japonicum infection in humans, water buffaloes, and snails in the two endemic municipalities of Talibon and Trinidad in Bohol, Philippines, which are nearing elimination.
Methods And Results: Human stool and blood samples were collected from barangays with snail breeding sites, and results showed higher positivity rates using the rSjTPx-1-ELISA compared to the Kato-Katz technique. Human stool examination for showed a 0.
