Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is frequently associated with increased incidence and mortality of pulmonary hypertension (PH). The immune response contributes to pulmonary artery remodeling and OSA-related diseases. The immunologic factors linked to OSA-induced PH are not well understood.

Background: The primary treatment for hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is the Fontan pathway, which entails performing the Glenn procedure. We hypothesized that the superior vena cava in patients with HLHS was short. As the length of the superior vena cava influences the Glenn procedure, we compared its length between patients with HLHS and those with other congenital heart diseases.

We report a 28-year-old G2P0 at 24 weeks 5 days who presented for evaluation secondary to suspected skeletal dysplasia in her fetus. Fetal ultrasound imaging demonstrated foreshortened long bones by 9-10 weeks, multiple bowing deformities and fractures, 11 foreshortened paired ribs with fractures, decreased skull mineralization, frontal bossing, enlarged cavum septum pellucidi, and severe fetal growth restriction (< 2%). Findings were concerning for life limiting condition with thoracic circumference < 2.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the possible effects of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) on fetal heart structure and the relationship of this effect with maternal blood sugar control.
Materials And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 19 women with GDM at 24-36 weeks of gestation (case group) and 21 healthy pregnant women at the same weeks of gestation (control group) were examined. Fetal heart structure was evaluated by ultrasonography; interventricular septum (IVS) thickness, right and left ventricular sphericity indices, global sphericity index (GSI) and cardio-thoracic ratio were also measured.
