The tritiation of (+)-(R)-alpha-((S)-1-[(3,3-di-3-thienylallyl)amino]-ethyl)-benzylalcohol (tinofedrine) is reported. The introduction of tritium was effected by partial hydrogenation of propiolic acid ester to the corresponding tritiated acrylic ester.

As the main inhibitory neurotransmission system, the GABAergic system poses an interesting yet underutilized target for molecular brain imaging. While PET imaging of postsynaptic GABAergic neurons has been accomplished using radiolabeled benzodiazepines targeting the GABA receptor, the development of presynaptic radioligands targeting GABA transporter 1 (GAT1) has been unsuccessful thus far. Radioactive iodine, a key waste product of nuclear energy, has been a significant concern among nuclear materials because of its high volatility and its ability to easily enter the human metabolism. Porous materials containing a large number of N-heterocyclic units such as carbazole in the skeletons use as effective adsorbents showing high iodine capture capacities. Herein, a new carbazole-bismaleimide-based hyper-cross-linked porous organic polymer (CzBMI-POP) was successfully prepared from a new tetra-armed carbazole-maleimide monomer (Bis-Cz(BMI)), which contains biscarbazole units and maleimide side groups.

Bariatric surgery for patients with obesity has shown a substantial, long-term weight loss and considerable improvement of obesity-related diseases. Background/objectives: Dithiocarbazates (DTCs) and their metal complexes have been studied regarding their property as anticancer activities. In this work, using S-benzyl-5-hydroxy-3-methyl-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pirazol-1-carbodithionate (Hbdtc), we prepared [ReO(bdtc)(Hbdtc)] and [[Tc]TcO(bdtc)(Hbdtc)] complexes for tumor uptake and animal biodistribution studies.
Methods: Re complex was prepared by a reaction of H2bdtc and (NBu)[ReOCl], the final product was characterized by IR, H NMR, CHN, and MS-ESI.

Ionic liquids were used as low temperature solvents for the synthesis of new lanthanide and transuranic-element (TRU) borate cluster structures. Ionothermal synthesis with the ionic liquid [BMIm]Cl (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) yielded the La, Nd, and Am containing phases LaBOCl, NdBOCl, and AmBOCl. The structures of the La, Nd, and Am borate clusters were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and found to be cubic, in the chiral space group 23.
