Seeking effective improvement agent control measures to enhance the photosynthetic physiological traits and yield levels of spring maize is crucial for efficient green agriculture in arid regions. Therefore, this study was conducted to clarify the effects of coupling improvement agents under magnetoelectric activated water irrigation conditions on the photosynthetic physiological traits, grain nutrients, and yield of spring maize in the arid region of northwest China. Field experiments were set up with three concentrations of growth regulators: 400 times (G1), 500 times (G2), and 600 times (G3), and three amounts of : 15 kg/ha (R1), 45 kg/ha (R2), and 75 kg/ha (R3), along with a control group CK, making a total of 10 treatments applied in the field experiment.

Chiral Oxazoline-Triazole-Benzothiazole Molecular Triads: Photoactive Sensors for Enantioselective Carbohydrate Recognition in Solution.

JACS Au

January 2025

Instituto de Química, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul-UFRGS, Av. Bento Gonçalves 9500, 91501-970 Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Understanding the mechanism of drug action in biological systems is facilitated by the interactions between small molecules and target chiral biomolecules. In this context, focusing on the enantiomeric recognition of carbohydrates in solution through steady-state fluorescence emission spectroscopy is noteworthy. To this end, we have developed a third generation of chiral optical sensors for carbohydrates, distinct from all of those previously presented, which interact with carbohydrates to form non-covalent probe-analyte interactions.

O3-type NaNiMnO cathode material exhibits significant potential for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to its high theoretical capacity and ample sodium reservoir. Nonetheless, its practical implementation encounters considerable obstacles, such as impaired structural integrity, sensitivity to moisture, inadequate high-temperature stability, and being unstable under high-voltage conditions. This study investigates the co-substitution of Cu, Mg, and Ti, guided by principles of the periodic law, to enhance the material's stability under varying conditions.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) can cause severe and sometimes long-standing immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Enhanced immune activation from ICI can theoretically result in osteoclast activation, bone loss and fracture. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence rates of major osteoporotic fractures (MOFs) in patients with melanoma treated with ICI.

Evaluating cognitive bias in clinical ethics supports: a scoping review.

BMC Med Ethics

January 2025

Unité de Neurophysiologie du Stress, Institut de Recherche Biomédicale Des Armées, Brétigny Sur Orge Cedex, 91223, France.

Background: A variety of cognitive biases are known to compromise ethical deliberation and decision-making processes. However, little is known about their role in clinical ethics supports (CES).

Methods: We searched five electronic databases (Pubmed, PsychINFO, the Web of Science, CINAHL, and Medline) to identify articles describing cognitive bias in the context of committees that deliberate on ethical issues concerning patients, at all levels of care.
