The study into the causes underlying nonspecific lymphadenitis (NSL) and adenophlegmons of the maxillofacial region and the neck (AF) revealed a great variety of etiological factors and primary infectious foci in these diseases. A total of 470 patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial area and neck were examined and treated. Acute inflammatory process was complicated with sepsis in 87 of them. Clinical and laboratory studies revealed that the intensity of endogenous intoxication depended on the phase of inflammatory process.
