Objective: Ruptured blister, dissecting, and iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms are rare pathologies that pose significant challenges from a treatment standpoint. Endovascular treatment via flow diversion represents an increasingly popular option; however, drawbacks include the requirement for dual antiplatelet therapy and the potential for thromboembolic complications, particularly acute complications in the ruptured setting. The Pipeline Flex embolization device with Shield Technology (PED-Shield) offers reduced material thrombogenicity, which may aid in the treatment of ruptured internal carotid artery pseudoaneurysms.

Late and persistent type II endoleaks (EL2) following Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) have been recognized as an independent and significant risk factor for aneurysm sac growth and secondary procedures. Solutions are available for treatment, with varying success rates; preventive perioperative sac embolization with coils appears safe and effective. The objective of this study is to compare whole blood coagulation elicited by a textile stent-graft equipped with thrombogenic, patented "Kardiozis" fibers (PKF) to that elicited by embolization coils in an in vitro study.

While historical studies have implicated atrial fibrillation as the leading cause of cardioembolic stroke, atrial cardiomyopathy may be an important, underestimated contributor. To date, the relationship between atrial cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, and cardioembolic stroke remains obscure.
