Purpose: To study the effect of four types of inferior oblique-weakening procedures on ocular torsion: inferior oblique recession (IOR), recession and antero-positioning (RAP), anterior transposition as practiced by Elliot and Nankin (EN), and anterior and nasal transposition (ANT).
Methods: The medical records of 72 consecutive patients >10 years of age undergoing inferior oblique weakening for primary or secondary inferior oblique overaction (IOOA) with or without horizontal rectus surgery were reviewed retrospectively. The 106 included eyes were assigned to one of the four groups according to the type of inferior oblique-weakening procedure.

Purpose: To report the surgical outcomes in six patients of Helveston syndrome using a "four oblique" procedure. The popular methods for surgical management include superior rectus recessions alone or combined with superior oblique tenectomy. However, large angle exotropia correction would entail a higher risk of anterior segment ischemia when the superior rectus needs to be operated along with the horizontal recti.

Introduction: We report a case of inferior oblique (IO) muscle adherence with fat adherence, which developed following unilateral IO anteriorization (IOAT).
Methods: A 14-year-old child with V pattern left exotropia, bilateral IO overaction, bilateral dissociated vertical deviation (DVD), and strabismic amblyopia (OS) underwent recess/resect procedure along with IOAT. He developed consecutive esotropia and drooping of upper eyelid with marked limitation of levoelevation (-4).

Aim: To evaluate long term follow-up (10y) of 6 muscle surgical approach in essential infantile esotropia (EIE).
Methods: A 6 muscle approach to EIE was retrospectively evaluated in patients with inferior oblique (IO) hyperfunction and lateral rectus (LR) pseudoparalysis, who underwent surgery at different ages. Different clinical characters were analyzed pre- and postoperatively, in patients who underwent a 6 muscles approach ≤4 years of age.

The aim of this study was to identify clinical and demographic factors associated with misalignment after first surgery performed on children affected by infantile esotropia to evaluate the reoperation rate. A retrospective study was carried out, analyzing data from 525 children who underwent bilateral medial recti recession, bilateral lateral recti resection, and inferior oblique recession and anteroposition by the same surgeon (AM). Postoperative evaluation included assessment of motor alignment at approximately 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years.
