The mechanisms linking maternal asthma (MA) exposure in utero and subsequent risk of asthma in childhood are not fully understood. Pathological airway remodelling, including reticular basement membrane thickening, has been reported in infants and children who go on to develop asthma later in childhood. This suggests altered airway development before birth as a mechanism underlying increased risk of asthma in children exposed in utero to MA.

Purpose: To explore the anatomical features of left iliac vein (LIV) in non-thrombotic venous leg ulcers (VLUs) and to identify the impact of these anatomical features on VLUs based on computed tomography venography (CTV).

Methods: This is a retrospective, single-center study of a database (2021-2023) of 431 patients with non-thrombotic chronic venous insufficiency. According to CEAP clinical (C) classifications, cases of C6 and C2 were included for analysis as case and control groups.

Left neck and right biceps muscle vibrations have similar effects on perceived body orientation.

Center of Neurology, Division of Neuropsychology, Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research, University of Tübingen, Tübingen, Germany.

Vibrating muscles to manipulate proprioceptive input creates the sensation of an apparent change in body position. This study investigates whether vibrating the right biceps muscle has similar effects as vibrating the left posterior neck muscles. Based on previous observations, we hypothesized that both types of muscle vibration would shift the perception of healthy subjects' subjective straight-ahead (SSA) orientation in the horizontal plane to the left.

Background: The IntellaNav MiFi OI catheter (MiFi) is equipped with a sensor for local impedance (LI) monitoring and three mini-electrodes. In this study, we investigated the target LI values for a successful pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) under the pacing and ablation technique using the MiFi catheter.

Methods: Twenty-seven patients underwent PVI using the MiFi catheter under mini electrode pacing from the MiFi catheter.

Locomotion is controlled by spinal circuits that interact with supraspinal drives and sensory feedback from the limbs. These sensorimotor interactions are disrupted following spinal cord injury. The thoracic lateral hemisection represents an experimental model of an incomplete spinal cord injury, where connections between the brain and spinal cord are abolished on one side of the cord.
