Previously, we have proposed the term of paramunity which represented the whole nonspecific defence reactions. Now, we experimentally have demonstrated the importance of an oral polybacterial vaccine in the local defence of the intestine against Salmonella or an enterovirus. The role of interferon was also discussed.

Objective: To document the clinical presentation, diagnostics, treatment, and clinical outcome of rabbits with dacryocystitis.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 28 rabbits diagnosed with dacryocystitis. Available records of clinical and ophthalmological examinations, bacteriological samplings, diagnostic imaging, and treatment were reviewed.
The study involved 120 cats, of which 60 were treated with Baypamun HK and 60 cats received a preparation of virus free cell culture medium. Therapeutic efficacy was determined by monitoring the general status of health, body weight, skin, lymph nodes, oral cavity, the presence of the p27 antigen and the FeLV p27 antigen concentration in serum. No statistically significant differences between both groups could be demonstrated neither for clinical nor for virologic parameters.

33 cats, suffering from chronic stomatitis, were treated with orally given paramunity inducer PIND-ORF (local paramunization). As a control 39 cats in the same practice were treated with other conventional methods. The reconvalescence rate (healing without rezidives) of experimental animals was 42%.

After an oral or inhalatory administration of polyvalent vaccines prepared from inactivated bacteria to mice, the rate of phagocytosis of the peritoneal or alveolar macrophages increased significantly.
