Landiolol, an ultra-short-acting β1-selective blocker, is more effective in controlling heart rate compared with digoxin in patients with atrial tachyarrhythmias and left ventricular dysfunction. However, the effect of atrial tachyarrhythmia type on the effectiveness of landiolol remains unknown. Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of landiolol in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial tachycardia (AT), not limited to those with heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction.

Purpose Of Review: Atrial fibrillation and heart failure frequently co-exist. This review discusses the comorbidity of atrial fibrillation and heart failure, the bi-directional link between them, and the recent advances in the management of these co-existing diseases.
Recent Findings: Catheter ablation received a class 1 A recommendation for patients with AF and HF, after overwhelming evidence in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and end-stage heart failure, while clinical trials are still lacking in patients with preserved ejection.

Introduction: Current guidelines recommend electrophysiological study (EPS) and ablation for primary treatment of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), but there is little information to guide patient selection for the procedure. The purpose of this study was to identify preoperative features that would predict whether patients with signs or symptoms of tachycardia were likely to have SVT induced and ablated at EPS.
Methods: We performed a retrospective chart review of 1089 patients referred for EPS and ablation of SVT at 2 high volume centers.

An early rhythm stabilization is the primary focus of the current treatment of atrial fibrillation. Based on current studies catheter ablation of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is an established component in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Therefore, in the management of affected patients this procedure should be offered at an early stage in addition to the holistic treatment approach with consistent treatment of cardiovascular risk factors and thromboembolism prophylaxis with anticoagulants.
