A portable device for studying the muscular tone can be constructed on the principle of registering displacements of a metal rod accomplished by means of the bridge network. The indicating instrument is calibrated with reference to the steel rod, whose density (tightness) is taken as an ultimate one, while the tightness of the muscle tissue is determined in per cent of the ultimate tightness.

Background: Pheochromocytomas (PCCs) are rare neuroendocrine catecholamine (CA)-secreting tumours that originate from chromaffin tissue and can produce and store CAs. Unexpected PCCs pose a serious threat to the perioperative safety of patients and a considerable challenge to anaesthesiologists because of the risks of fatal hypertensive crises and other stresses.

We present a case of a 51-year-old woman diagnosed with light chain amyloidosis associated with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS). Initially, she presented with symptoms of heart failure, including palpitations, chest tightness, and shortness of breath, which were attributed to myocarditis based on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging findings. However, her condition rapidly deteriorated, with recurrent admissions for worsening heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and stroke.
