Background: This study aims to identify risk factors associated with tuberculosis-specific mortality (TSM) in older adult patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and to develop a competing risk nomogram for TSM prediction.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study and randomly selected 528 older adult pulmonary TB patients hospitalized in designated hospitals in Henan Province between January 2015 and December 2020. The cumulative incidence function (CIF) was calculated for both TSM and non-tuberculosis-specific mortality (non-TSM).

Bacteria in the complex and nontuberculous mycobacteria may affect a variety of animal species under human care and pose public health risks as zoonotic pathogens. A case of sudden onset of lethargy and increased respiratory effort in a 5-y-old, intact female reindeer () under managed care had progressed to severe dyspnea despite aggressive treatment. The animal was euthanized due to poor prognosis.

Introduction: Diffuse parenchymal lung diseases (DPLD) cover heterogeneous types of lung disorders. Among many pathological phenotypes, pulmonary fibrosis is the most devastating and represents a characteristic sign of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Despite a poor prognosis brought by pulmonary fibrosis, there are no specific diagnostic biomarkers for the initial development of this fatal condition.

Background: Chronic disease has become an increasing burden in Indonesia, increasing the importance of treatment adherence to control the disease prognosis. Therefore, we aim to determine the prevalence and characteristics of nonadherence in Indonesian chronic disease population.
Methods: We identified 11,408 adult subjects with chronic diseases from the fifth Indonesian Family Life Survey.

Background: HIV and tuberculosis (TB) co-infection poses a significant health challenge, particularly when involving the central nervous system (CNS), where it leads to severe morbidity and mortality. Current treatments face challenges such as drug resistance, immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS), and persistent inflammation. Glutathione (GSH) has the therapeutic potential to enhance treatment outcomes by improving antibiotic efficacy, reducing inflammation, and mitigating immune dysfunction.
