Background: Extensive metastatic and refractory cancer pain is common, and exhibits a dissatisfactory response to the conventional intrathecal infusion of opioid analgesics.

Case Presentation: The present study reports a case of an extensive metastatic esophageal cancer patient with severe intractable pain, who underwent translumbar subarachnoid puncture with intrathecal catheterization to the prepontine cistern. After continuous infusion of low-dose morphine, the pain was well-controlled with a decrease in the numeric rating scale (NRS) of pain score from 9 to 0, and the few adverse reactions to the treatment disappeared at a low dose of morphine.

Purpose: To describe our experience with the use of a novel iodized Polyvinyl Alcohol Polymer liquid agent (Easyx) in type II endoleak treatment with translumbar approach.

Methods: Our case series is a retrospective review of patients with type II endoleak (T2E) treated with Easyx from December 2017 to December 2020. Indication for treatment was a persistent T2E with an increasing aneurysm sac ≥5 mm on computed tomography angiography (CTA) over a 6-month interval.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the initial experience, technical success, and clinical benefit of AneuFix (TripleMed, Geleen, the Netherlands), a novel biocompatible and non-inflammatory elastomer that is directly injected into the aneurysm sac by a translumbar puncture in patients with a type II endoleak and a growing aneurysm.

Materials And Methods: A multicenter, prospective, pivotal study was conducted (ClinicalTrials.gov:NCT02487290).

A Novel Technique and Outcomes for Transcaval Endoleak Embolization.

Ann Vasc Surg

July 2023

Department of Vascular Surgery, Sydell and Arnold Miller Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. Electronic address:

Background: Strategies for embolization of type 2 endoleaks include translumbar, transgraft, transarterial, and transcaval approaches. The transcaval approach is limited by an inconsistent ability to access the aortic sac and the risk of puncturing and damaging the endograft or adjacent structures. We describe a novel technique for caval to aortic aneurysm sac access and report early outcomes.

Background: Endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) is a safe and minimally invasive alternative to open surgical repair for infra renal aortic aneuvrysm. EVAR requires lifelong post-procedural surveillance. Endoleaks represent the main complication.
