Speaking requires frequent decisions about how to refer, for example whether to use a pronoun (she) or a name (Ana). It is well known that this choice is guided by the discourse context, but little is known about the representations that are activated. We use priming to test whether this choice can be facilitated through recent exposure, and if so, what representations are activated.

Objectives: Despite evidence supporting sleep's role in the development and maintenance of depression, mechanisms underlying this association in young people are less established. Negative interpretation bias (the tendency to interpret ambiguous situations negatively) and repetitive negative thinking (RNT) are important candidate mechanisms. Whilst negative interpretation bias is implicated in depression development, it is a transdiagnostic process and may result from insomnia.

Background: Treadmill-based gait training is part of rehabilitation programs focused on walking abilities. The use of handrails embedded in treadmill systems is debated, and current literature only explores the issue from a behavioral perspective.

Object recognition is fundamental to how we interact with and interpret the world around us. The human amygdala and hippocampus play a key role in object recognition, contributing to both the encoding and retrieval of visual information. Here, we recorded single-neuron activity from the human amygdala and hippocampus when neurosurgical epilepsy patients performed a one-back task using naturalistic object stimuli.
