After a survey concerning the previous testing methods in Newborn-Audiometry three different examinations are carried out and compared. Thereby the testing by bone conduction is doing best. There are only small intensities necessary. The results are reproducable well and have small scattering. The investigation makes no high demands to the technical equipment, to the personal appointment and the loss the time. The author supposed that the Newborn-Audiometry by bone conduction is a suitable method as a screening test especially for high risk children.

Objective We evaluated the outcomes of tympanic membrane regenerative treatment using gelatin sponge, recombinant basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), and fibrin glue at Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital. Methodology We enrolled a total of 42 patients with tympanic membrane perforations (TMPs) (44 ears; right:left = 21:23) that were treated using gelatin sponge, recombinant bFGF, and fibrin glue between July 2020 and December 2023 at Yokosuka Kyosai Hospital. TMP closure rates, improvement of hearing level, and complications were retrospectively included in the evaluation items.

Objective: Eosinophilic Otitis Media (EOM) is an intractable disease caused by type 2 inflammation, such as Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis (ECRS) and bronchial asthma. Biologics have recently been used to treat ECRS and bronchial asthma. Biologics are not indicated for EOM; however, because approximately 10% of ECRS cases has concomitant EOM, concomitant EOM improvement has been observed when dupilumab is administered for ECRS.
