Nine patients received a toe-to-finger transfer after accidental amputation and one after a congenital defect. One led to secondary amputation due to arterial thrombosis. Seven of the 9 patients would have the operation again if needed. Five transplants were great toe-to-thumb transfers which the authors feel superior to second toe to thumb transplantations. The method seems to be useful in reconstructive hand surgery.

Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) is characterized by episodic vasospasm of the small blood vessels, primarily affecting the fingers and toes. Management includes lifestyle modifications, pharmacological treatments, and in severe cases, surgical interventions. Here we report a case of an 80-year-old male patient with a history of hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, and atrial fibrillation who presented to the emergency department with edema, cyanosis, and intense pain in the fingers of both hands following a mild COVID-19 infection (no dyspnea or hypoxemia).

Free vascularized partial great toe is a composite tissue consisting of the osteo-onycho-cutaneous component with neurovascular pedicle and is used for reconstructing amputated fingers at different levels. The half-big-toe nail flap represents that while it provides a good match and functional results; it also conserves the donor foot by having all five toes intact. The aesthetic and functional aspects of the amputated thumbs and fingers can be worked upon and significantly improved.
