Mesoporous Silica with Dual Stimuli-Microenvironment Responsiveness via the Pectin-Gated Strategy for Controlled Release of Rosmarinic Acid.

ACS Appl Bio Mater

College of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Advanced Chemical Engineering Manufacture Technology, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China.

Traditional drug-delivery methods are limited by low bioavailability and nonspecific drug distribution, resulting in poor therapeutic efficacy and potential risks of toxicity. Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have attracted wide attention as drug-delivery carriers due to their large specific surface area, adjustable pore size, good mechanical strength, good biocompatibility, and rich hydroxyl groups on their surface. In this paper, MSNs were synthesized by a template method, and the morphology and pore structure were regulated.

Software-Defined Networks (SDN) provides more control and network operation over a network infrastructure as an emerging and revolutionary paradigm in networking. Operating the many network applications and preserving the network services and functions, the SDN controller is regarded as the operating system of the SDN-based network architecture. The SDN has several security problems because of its intricate design, even with all its amazing features.

In 2019, the novel coronavirus swept the world, exposing the monitoring and early warning problems of the medical system. Computer-aided diagnosis models based on deep learning have good universality and can well alleviate these problems. However, traditional image processing methods may lead to high false positive rates, which is unacceptable in disease monitoring and early warning.

The present study focuses on designing mutant peptides derived from the lanthanide binding tag (LBT) to enhance selectivity for trivalent actinide (An) ions over lanthanide (Ln) metal ions (M). The LBT is a short peptide consisting of only 17 amino acids, and is known for its high affinity towards Ln. LBT was modified by substituting hard-donor ligands like asparagine (ASN or N) and aspartic acid (ASP or D) with softer ligand cysteine (CYS or C) to create four mutant peptides: M-LBT (wild-type), M-N103C, M-D105C, and M-N103C-D105C.
