Bovine thrombin and streptokinase-activated human plasmin have been labeled with Tc-99m using stannous reduction of pertechnetate under physiological conditions (pH 7.4). The binding efficiency of radiotechnetium to these enzymes is greater than 94%, with less than 5% of reduced but unbound Tc-99m (Sn) complex as assayed by ascending paper radiochromatography using ITLC silica gel plate.

Polymethylene diphosphonic acids of different chain lengths ( n = 2, 3, and 10) were synthesized and labeled with technetium-99m. Their biologic behavior was compared with that of Tc-99m-labeled methylene diphosphonate (MDP) in experimental animals. With n = 2 (ethylene diphosphonic acid), the compound resembled MDP in bone affinity.

Two very similar cases of persistent positive myocardial scintigraphy with radiotechnetium are described and, in view of agreement of other medical, electrocardiographic, apexcardiographic and radiographic data, this can be ascribed to the presence of a parietal ventricular aneurysm after myocardial infarction.

Objective and instrumental appraisal of the therapeutic effect of a new inflammatory molecule (pyrasanone) via radio-isotope and clinical assessment is reported. A highly significant decrease in articular uptake of radiotechnetium was observed when pyrasanone was administered for a short period to 6 subjects with classic or definite rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical assessment after prolonged aministration in 40 patients with various rheumatic diseases with pathogenetice inflammation showed a marked anc clinically important anti-inflammatory (and hence analgesic) effct; tolerance was good and there were no side-effects.
