A variant of mixed adenosquamous carcinoma of the endometrium was encountered in 5 of 68 patients (7.4 per cent) with mixed adenosquamous carcinomas of the endometrium. A sixty patient had an isolated area of glassy cell carcinoma in an otherwise typical adenosquamous carcinoma. The ground-glass appearance of the cytoplasm, the distinctive nucleus with prominent nucleoli, the numerous mitoses, and the similarity of this tumor to previously described glassy cell cervix cancers all suggest that the tumor is glassy cell carcinoma. Four of the five tumors behaved in an aggressive manner.

Background: Airflow drying of mammalian cells has not been successful yet, with one obstacle being the improper drying time of cells-laden trehalose droplets.
Objective: To evaluate the major factors affecting the drying kinetics of aqueous trehalose droplets.
Materials And Methods: A numerical analysis was applied to the evaporation behavior of aqueous trehalose droplets for the preservation of biomaterials.

This study presents a novel, label-free electrochemical immunosensor for the detection of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a crucial tumor biomarker. The immunosensor was developed by electrochemical deposition of gold nanoparticles-reduced graphene oxide (AuNPs-rGO) nanocomposite on glassy carbon (GC) and screen-printed carbon (SPC) electrodes. A specific monoclonal antibody against VEGF was immobilized on the electrode surface through a carbodiimide coupling reaction.

Microbial Electrochemical Fluidized Reactors (ME-FBR) changed the paradigm for growing electroactive bacteria from a biofilm strategy to a planktonic mode, while still performing direct extracellular electron transfer from oxidative metabolism in absence of redox mediators. Glassy carbon was the material selected for growing planktonic Geobacter sulfurreducens in ME-FBR. However, the material was unable to retain cells so applications implying continuous operation have been compromised.

Natural human monoclonal antibodies obtained from sentinel lymph nodes of cancer patients identify cell surface vimentin. One of these vimentin-reactive antibodies, pritumumab, has been used to treat brain cancer patients. This review summarizes data on mAbs reactive with cell surface vimentin and their origin from lymph nodes of cancer patients.

Prussian-blue nanoparticles (PBNPs) show promise in electrochemical hydrogen peroxide (HO) sensing but face operational stability challenges without complex strategies. This study introduces a simplified, polymer-based synthesis method, enhancing their stability in a single step. Chemical polymerization of Prussian-blue (PB) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) with gelatin as a polycationic soft template yields a self-assembled PB-infused Catalytic Hetero-interface Architecture (PB-CHIA) that remarkably improves the stability of PBNPs and offers functional groups for enzyme immobilization, supporting robust biosensing applications.
