The inter- and intralaboratory quality control of haemoglobin estimation in remote laboratories requires a more rugged control haemolysate than is commercially available. The stabilities of oxyhaemoglobin and carboxyhaemoglobin forms of an ethanediol-containing haemolysate were studied over a three-year period. From the results obtained, carboxyhaemoglobin under nitrogen is proposed as a possible candidate reference material for haemoglobin assay.

Ultra-High Sensitivity Methane Gas Sensor Based on Cryptophane-A Thin Film Depositing in Double D-Shaped Photonic Crystal Fiber Using the Vernier Effect.

Methane gas leakage can lead to pollution problems, such as rising ambient temperature. In this paper, the Vernier effect of a double D-shaped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) in a Sagnac interferometer (SI) is proposed for the accurate detection of mixed methane gas content in the gas. The optical fiber structure of the effective sensing in the sensing SI loop and the effective sensing in the reference SI loop are the same.

Tunable Characteristics of Optical Frequency Combs from InGaAs/GaAs Two-Section Mode-Locked Lasers.

We observed tunable characteristics of optical frequency combs (OFCs) generated from InGaAs/GaAs double quantum wells (DQWs) asymmetric waveguide two-section mode-locked lasers (TS-MLLs). This involves an asymmetric waveguide mode-locked semiconductor laser (AWML-SL) operating at a center wavelength of net modal gain of approximately 1.06 µm, which indicates a stable pulse shape, with the power-current(P-I) characteristic curve revealing a small difference between forward and reverse drive currents in the gain region.

Porphyrin's excellent biocompatibility and modifiability make it a widely studied photoactive material. However, its large π-bond conjugated structure leads to aggregation and precipitation in physiological solutions, limiting the biomedical applications of porphyrin-based photoactive materials. It has been demonstrated through research that fabricating porphyrin molecules into nanoscale covalent organic frameworks (COFs) structures can circumvent issues such as poor dispersibility resulting from hydrophobicity, thereby significantly augmenting the photoactivity of porphyrin materials.

This perspective begins with an overview of the major impact that the dendron, dendrimer, and dendritic state (DDDS) discovery has made on traditional polymer science. The entire DDDS technology is underpinned by an unprecedented new polymerization strategy referred to as step-growth, amplification-controlled polymerization (SGACP). This new SGACP paradigm allows for routine polymerization of common monomers and organic materials into precise monodispersed, dendritic macromolecules (i.

The coagulation of fresh latex is one of the critical processes that impacts rubber quality during natural rubber processing. Constitutive relationships are the basis for the study of the mechanical properties of rubber materials and serve as a prerequisite for material simulation studies. However, studies on the effect of different coagulation methods on natural rubber constitutive relationships have yet to be carried out, and the current models used for natural rubber constitutive relationships need to be improved.
