Maximum expiratory flow rate at 30 percent of vital capacity above residual volume served as an index of airway obstruction in comparing the effects of leukotriene C and histamine administered by aerosol to five normal persons. Leukotriene C was 600 to 9500 times more potent than histamine on a molar basis in producing an equivalent decrement in the residual volume. The leukotriene C response was slow in onset and prolonged, reminiscent of the effects of aerosol allergen challenge in asthmatic allergic subjects.

There is evidence that the asthma drug montelukast (MS) inhibits the expression of proinflammatory cytokines. This study was conducted to verify the effect of MS administration on TBI healing after RC repair.

Background: Considering the role of leukotrienes in inflammatory pathways, and owing to the anti-leukotrienes effect of montelukast, in the present clinical trial, we aimed to assess the effect of montelukast on remission maintenance in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: In the present double-blind randomized controlled clinical trial, 222 volunteer UC patients on high-dose corticosteroid and montelukast were recruited. The patients received 10 mg of montelukast (98 patients) or placebo (124 patients) for 22 weeks.

Introduction: Long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) addition to inhaled corticosteroid/long-acting β-agonist (ICS/LABA) dual therapy is recommended for severe asthma, but its real-world effectiveness is not well established.
Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to investigate clinical outcomes in US adults with asthma receiving ICS + LABA + LAMA as multiple-/single-inhaler triple therapy (MITT/SITT). Real-world/observational studies published in English in Embase/MEDLINE databases (2014-2024) and conference abstracts presented 2022-2024 were eligible for inclusion.
