The United States has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world, with approximately 1.7 million individuals detained in jails or federal or state prisons. Chronic medical conditions are more prevalent among adults in custody than among their nonincarcerated counterparts, resulting in needs that often surpass the on-site medical treatment capabilities of carceral facilities.

It aims to provide strategic insights for boosting vaccination rates by analyzing adults' decision-making factors. This contributes to developing more efficient, patient-focused vaccination strategies that tackle vaccine hesitancy and improve access to vaccination sites.

More than 30 million Americans lack access to affordable health care, and many seek medical services such as dermatologic care at free clinics. In this study, we analyzed the dermatology patient populations at the Birmingham Free Clinic (BFC) and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), both in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A retrospective chart review of 76 BFC dermatology patients and a time-matched sample of 322 UPMC dermatology patients was performed for the period from January 2020 to May 2022.
