The relationship between gastric acid secretion and ulcer healing was analysed in 168 patients with endoscopically proven duodenal ulceration. One hundred and three patients received active treatment with various therapeutic agents and 65 received placebo. The mean maximal acid output in patients with unhealed ulcers was significantly higher than that in patients with endoscopically confirmed ulcer healing in both the actively treated and the placebo groups (P less than 0,001). In patients with normosecretory acid status the rate of ulcer healing on active treatment was significantly higher than that achieved with placebo (P less than 0,001). However, no significant difference in ulcer healing was evident following active treatment or placebo administration in patients with hypersecretion of acid. Acid secretory profiles warrant consideration when the results of clinical trials are interpreted.

Background: One of the most vital forms of the affected patient safety is pressure ulcers (PUs), which can be a critical health problem that every day impacts sufferers and healthcare structures. This study aimed to explore the level of nurse's knowledge and perceived barriers regarding PUs prevention among critically ill patients.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 100 nurses who working in the critical care units (CCUs) at tertiary teaching hospitals in Baghdad City, the study extended from April to June 2024 to assess the nurses' knowledge level using the knowledge perceived barriers on the prevention of PUs questionnaire.
Background: When Behçet's disease is complicated with gastrointestinal ulcers, it is referred to as intestinal Behçet's disease (BD). Clinically uncommon, this condition can involve the entire gastrointestinal tract, often presenting diagnostic challenges in differentiation from Crohn's disease.
Methods: In this case, atypical BD was diagnosed through endoscopic examination, whereas latent tuberculosis infection (LBTI) was confirmed via T-SPOT and PPD tests.

Introduction: Foot ulcers are one of the most serious complications of diabetes, leading to significant risks on amputation and mortality. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is an important factor for the development and the outcome of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). Although prompt and accurate detection of PAD is critical to reduce complications, its diagnosis can be challenging with currently used bedside tests (such as ankle-brachial index and toe pressure) due to medial arterial calcification.

The treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) represents a significant challenge due to the complexity of the wound microenvironment. Several factors, including infection, inflammation, and impaired angiogenesis, can complicate the healing process and reduce the effectiveness of current clinical treatments. To address these challenges, this work develops a multifunctional sponge containing a zeolitic imidazolate framework-8/bacterial cellulose (ZIF-8/BC) matrix loaded with the antioxidant naringin (Nar).
