Complications occurred in 220 out of 2018 total hip replacement operations (10.9%) and were responsible for 35 post-operative deaths (1.73%). They included early vascular accidents (3.6%), post-operative dislocations (2.47%) and late aseptic prosthesis loosening (3%). Sepsis was uncommon (1.28%). Other complications were exceptional and unforeseable.

This study aimed to investigate the direct association between domestic violence and the indirect association of exposure through pregnancy, delivery, and neonatal risk factors with severe maternal morbidity (SMM). The target population of this case-control study included all women who gave birth in the hospitals of the Torbat Heidarieh University of Medical Science from June 2018 to May 2020. A total of 123 mothers with SMM according to the World Health Organization criteria were selected as cases, and 127 mothers who did not meet the World Health Organization criteria were included in the control group.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to review rates of infection after civilian ballistic fractures and assess the effect of early antibiotic administration (EAA) on infection rates.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study done at an urban Level 1 Trauma Center. Patients ages 16 years and older with ballistic orthopaedic extremity injuries between May 2018 and December 2020 were enrolled.
