Objective: This study presents a comparative analysis of RF and SVM for predicting calcein release from ultrasound-triggered, targeted liposomes under varied low-frequency ultrasound (LFUS) power densities (6.2, 9, and 10 mW/cm).
Methods: Liposomes loaded with calcein and targeted with seven different moieties (cRGD, estrone, folate, Herceptin, hyaluronic acid, lactobionic acid, and transferrin) were synthesized using the thin-film hydration method.

Human organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP) 1B1 and 1B3 are two highly homologous liver-specific uptake transporters. However, 2',7'-dichlorofluorescein (DCF) is preferably transported by OATP1B1. In the present study, the molecular mechanisms for the selective transport of DCF by OATP1B1 were investigated by constructing and characterizing an array of OATP1B1/1B3 chimeras and site-directed mutagenesis.

The blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB), formed by the choroid plexus epithelial (CPE) cells, plays an active role in removing drugs and metabolic wastes from the brain. Recent functional studies in isolated mouse choroid plexus (CP) tissues suggested the presence of organic anion transporting polypeptides (OATPs, encoded by SLCOs) at the apical membrane of BCSFB, which may clear large organic anions from the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). However, the specific OATP isoform involved is unclear.

Food additives are compounds that are added to food and beverage to improve the taste, color, preservation, or composition. Generally, food additives are considered safe for human use due to safety evaluations conducted by food safety authorities and high safety margins applied to permitted usage levels. However, the interaction potential of food additives with simultaneously administered medication has not received much attention.

Elevated levels of the estrone metabolite, 16α-hydroxyestrone (16αOHE1), have been linked with multiple diseases. As an electrophilic reactive metabolite, covalent binding to proteins is thought to constitute one of the possible mechanisms in the onset of deleterious health outcomes associated with 16αOHE1. Whereas mass spectrometry (MS)-based methodologies are currently considered the best suited to monitor the formation of protein covalent adducts, the application of these approaches for the identification of covalent adducts of 16αOHE1 is yet to be provided.
