Dane particles isolated from the sera of HBsAg/ad and HBsAg/ay carriers were reacted with monospecific antibodies to the d and y subtype-specific determinants of HBsAg/. Dane particles from HBsAg/ad expressed the d determinant on their surfaces and those from HBsAg/ay sera contained the y specificity. Both complete (DNA-P and HBcAg) and defective (HBcAg alone) Dane particles expressed the subtype-specific determinants.

Background: Recent evidence has indicated that the O-glycosylated PreS2 domain of the middle HBsAg is a distinguishing characteristic that allows the identification of HBsAg of HBV Dane particles and SVPs. This study's objective was to assess the changes in serum O-glycosylated HBsAg levels in CHB patients undergoing ETV or Peg-IFNα treatment.
Methods: Our retrospective study enrolled 86 patients with genotype C CHB.

A geopolymer waste form has become a suitable approach for the immobilization of the volatile technetium (Tc) due to the low curing temperature (<60 °C). However, the low retention and the high mobility of the anionic technetium (TcO) remain challenging due to the charge repulsion stemming from the negative charges of the geopolymer surface and the anionic TcO. Herein, a geopolymer composite containing sulfidized nanoscale zerovalent iron (S-nZVI) was developed to reductively immobilize ReO (used as a non-radioactive surrogate for TcO).

Background: Lapis judaicus, or Jews stone (Badarashma), has been used in treating kidney and bladder stones since ancient times by Ayurvedic and Unani medicinal practitioners. A limited number of studies have been carried out using Ayurvedic preparations derived from gems or precious stones that were used traditionally. In Ayurveda, Rasa Shastra includes the fabrication of Bhasmas and Pishti.

The CYGNO experiment aims to build a large ( m ) directional detector for rare event searches, such as nuclear recoils (NRs) induced by dark matter (DM), such as weakly interactive massive particles (WIMPs). The detector concept comprises a time projection chamber (TPC), filled with a He:CF 60/40 scintillating gas mixture at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, equipped with an amplification stage made of a stack of three gas electron multipliers (GEMs) which are coupled to an optical readout. The latter consists in scientific CMOS (sCMOS) cameras and photomultipliers tubes (PMTs).

The purpose of this study was twofold: to identify the growth mechanisms of amorphous nanoparticles in solution and during the drying process at high temperatures, and to guide the process condition and stabilizer selection for amorphous nanoparticle formulations. In contrast to nanocrystals that are mostly mechanically robust, amorphous nanoparticles tend to undergo deformation under stress. As a result, development of a stable formulation and evaluation of the drying process for re-dispersible amorphous nanoparticles present considerable challenges.
