Background And Objectives: Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) is the main target in the management of dyslipidemia in primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Our study aims to compare the conventional and most popular Friedewald equation, and the more recent Sampson equation (literally unknown in India but more accurate), to the directly estimated LDL-c by the homogenous method. No such comparative study has been done in India.

After many hardships, he arrived in the United States of America and earned a diploma in tropical medicine and a PhD in biochemistry from Harvard.
