Klinik für Urologie und Kinderurologie, Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, Pauwelsstr. 30, 52074, Aachen, Deutschland.

Lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) is common in children and can significantly impact the quality of life in affected children and their families. Background: During orthotopic liver transplantation, allograft reperfusion is a dynamic point in the operation and often requires vasoactive medications and blood transfusions. Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) of liver allografts has emerged to increase the number of transplantable organs and may have utility during donation after circulatory death (DCD) liver transplantation in reducing transfusion burden and vasoactive medication requirements.

Methods: This is a single-center retrospective study involving 226 DCD liver transplant recipients who received an allograft transported with NMP (DCD-NMP group) or with static cold storage (DCD-SCS group).

Background: Hyponatremia is one of the complicating findings in acute decompensated heart failure. Decrease in cardiac output and systemic blood pressure triggers activation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, antidiuretic hormone, and norepinephrine due to the perceived hypovolemia. Fluid-overloaded heart failure patients are commonly treated with loop diuretics, acutely decompensated heart failure patients tend to be less responsive to conventional oral doses of a loop diuretic, while other different diuretics could work in different part of nephron circulation system.

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) presents significant challenges in neonatal management, particularly in the context of anesthesia. This case report details the successful anesthetic management of a five-day-old neonate with left-sided CDH requiring thoracoscopic repair. A five-day-old neonate, delivered via emergency cesarean section due to breech presentation, presented with severe respiratory distress and was diagnosed with left-sided CDH.

Objective: The optimal timing of vasopressin initiation as an adjunctive vasopressor remains unclear. We aimed to study the association between the timing of vasopressin commencement, pre-specified physiological parameters, and hospital mortality.

Design: We conducted a multicentre, retrospective, observational study.
