Dry eye disease (DED) is a prevalent inflammatory condition significantly impacting quality of life, yet lacks effective pharmacological therapies. Herein, we proposed a novel approach to modulate the inflammation through metabolic remodeling, thus promoting dry eye recovery. Our study demonstrated that co-treatment with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) yielded the best therapeutic outcome against dry eye, surpassing monotherapy outcomes.

The effects of guanidinium hydrochloride (GdmCl) on two intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) are investigated using simulations of the self-organized polymer-IDP (SOP-IDP) model. The impact of GdmCl is taken into account using the molecular transfer model (MTM). We show that due to the dramatic reduction in the stiffness of the highly charged Prothymosin-α (ProTα) with increasing concentration of GdmCl ([GdmCl]), the radius of gyration () decreases sharply until about 1.

Diethylene glycol dimethacrylate (DEG)-crosslinked polystyrene (PS) resin offers a promising alternative to traditional divinyl benzene (DVB)-PS resin for solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), particularly for challenging sequences with hydrophobic or bulky amino acids. DEG-PS resin's reduced hydrophobicity and enhanced flexibility improve synthesis efficiency, yielding peptides up to 28 residues with higher purities and yields compared to DVB-PS.
