In mammalian oocytes, large-scale chromatin organization regulates transcription, nuclear architecture, and maintenance of chromosome stability in preparation for meiosis onset. Pre-ovulatory oocytes with distinct chromatin configurations exhibit profound differences in metabolic and transcriptional profiles that ultimately determine meiotic competence and developmental potential. Here, we developed a deep learning pipeline for the non-invasive prediction of chromatin structure and developmental potential in live mouse oocytes.

Mitral Valve Prolapse Caused by TLL1 Gain-of-Function Mutation.

Can J Cardiol

January 2025

The Morris Kahn Laboratory of Human Genetics, Faculty of Health Sciences and National Institute of Biotechnology in the Negev, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Be'er Sheva, Israel; Genetics Institute, Soroka University Medical Center, Be'er Sheva, Israel; The Danek Gertner Institute of Human Genetics, Sheba Medical Center, Ramat Gan, Israel. Electronic address:

Background: Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a common cardiac valvular anomaly that can be caused by mutations in genes of various biological pathways. Individuals of three generations of a kindred presented with apparently dominant heredity of isolated MVP.

Methods: Clinical evaluation and echocardiography for all complying family members (n=13).

Thermal-crosslinked acellular dermal matrix combined with adipose-derived stem cells to regenerate vascularized adipose tissue.

January 2025

Department of Plastic Surgery, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, Tongji University, No. 301, Middle Yanchang Road, Shanghai, 200011, CHINA.

The reconstruction of large-sized soft tissue defects remains a substantial clinical challenge, with adipose tissue engineering emerging as a promising solution. The acellular dermal matrix (ADM), known for its intricate spatial arrangement and active cytokine involvement, is widely employed as a scaffold in soft tissue engineering. Since ADM shares high similarity with decellularized adipose matrix, it holds potential as a substitute for adipose tissue.

The daily light-dark cycle is a recurrent and predictable environmental phenomenon to which many organisms, including cyanobacteria, have evolved to adapt. Understanding how cyanobacteria alter their metabolic attributes in response to subjective light or dark growth may provide key features for developing strains with improved photosynthetic efficiency and applications in enhanced carbon sequestration and renewable energy. Here, we undertook a label-free proteomic approach to investigate the effect of extended light (LL) or extended dark (DD) conditions on the unicellular cyanobacterium ATCC 51142.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common postoperative complication, and hypotension may contribute. We therefore tested the primary hypothesis that individualized intraoperative blood pressure regulation reduces postoperative AKI in older surgical patients.

Methods: We enrolled patients ≥60 years old scheduled for elective major abdominal surgery with invasive arterial pressure monitoring.
