The cooling procedure markedly diminishes the quality of guinea pig () sperms, primarily because their membranes are highly susceptible to this process. This susceptibility triggers the generation of reactive oxygen species and free radicals, ultimately leading to lipid peroxidation in the sperm membrane. Surprisingly, there has been a lack of research on the use of Tris-based extenders to safeguard guinea pig sperm under refrigeration conditions.

Glioma is a highly fatal and heterogeneous brain tumor with few known risk factors. Our study examines genetically predicted variability in blood cell indices in relation to glioma risk and survival in 3418 cases and 8156 controls. We find that increased platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) confers an increased risk of glioma (odds ratio (OR) = 1.

Background: Sjogren syndrome (SS) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease and its pathogenesis often involves the participation of numerous immune cells and inflammatory factors. Despite increased researches and studies recently focusing on this area, it remains to be fully elucidated. We decide to incorporate genetic insight into investigation of the causal link between various immune cells, inflammatory factors and pathogenesis of Sjogren syndrome (SS).

Plasmodium falciparum erythrocyte membrane protein 1 (PfEMP1) is a diverse family of variant surface antigens, encoded by var genes, that mediates binding of infected erythrocytes to human cells and plays a key role in parasite immune evasion and malaria pathology. The increased availability of parasite genome sequence data has revolutionised the study of PfEMP1 diversity across multiple P. falciparum isolates.

Background: The accurate deciphering of spatial domains, along with the identification of differentially expressed genes and the inference of cellular trajectory based on spatial transcriptomic (ST) data, holds significant potential for enhancing our understanding of tissue organization and biological functions. However, most of spatial clustering methods can neither decipher complex structures in ST data nor entirely employ features embedded in different layers.
Results: This article introduces STMSGAL, a novel framework for analyzing ST data by incorporating graph attention autoencoder and multiscale deep subspace clustering.
