Extending single-cell analysis to intact tissues while maintaining organ-scale spatial information poses a major challenge due to unequal chemical processing of densely packed cells. Here we introduce Continuous Redispersion of Volumetric Equilibrium (CuRVE) in nanoporous matrices, a framework to address this challenge. CuRVE ensures uniform processing of all cells in organ-scale tissues by perpetually maintaining dynamic equilibrium of the tissue's gradually shifting chemical environment.

Background And Aims: Inflammation can generate pathogenic Th17 cells and cause an inflammatory dysbiosis. In the context of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), these inflammatory Th17 cells and dysbiotic microbiota may perpetuate injury to intestinal epithelial cells. However, many models of IBD like T-cell transfer colitis and IL-10-/- mice rely on the absence of regulatory pathways, so it is difficult to tell if inflammation can also induce protective Th17 cells.

Thermophysical properties of graphene reinforced with polymethyl methacrylate nanoparticles for technological applications: a molecular model.

J Mol Model

January 2025

Escuela Superior de Física y Matemáticas, IPN S/N, Edificio 9 de la Unidad Profesional "Adolfo López Mateos", Col. Lindavista, Alc. Gustavo A. Madero, 07738, Mexico City, Mexico.

Context: "Nanostructure of graphene-reinforced with polymethyl methacrylate" (PMMA-G), and vice versa, is investigated using its molecular structure, in the present work. The PMMA-G nanostructure was constructed by bonding PMMA with graphene nanosheet in a sense to get three different configurations. Each configuration consisted of polymeric structures with three degrees of polymerization (such as monomers, dimers, and trimers polymers, respectively).

The Fear Primacy Hypothesis in the Structure of Emotional States: A Systematic Literature Review.

Psychol Rep

January 2025

Mind Networks Association LLC, Wilmington, DE, USA.

Fear, an emotion ingrained through evolutionary adaptation, triggers protective responses to ward off threats. Yet, in some instances, the neural networks tied to fear can lead to psychosomatic ailments and behavioural issues, including the maladaptive type. This study aims to hypothesize about fear, probing its neurophysiological traits and its impact on cognitive-emotional facets of the psyche.

"Active" reservoir cells transcribing HIV can perpetuate chronic inflammation in virally suppressed people with HIV (PWH) and likely contribute to viral rebound after antiretroviral therapy (ART) interruption, so they represent an important target for new therapies. These cells, however, are difficult to study using single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) due to their low frequency and low levels of HIV transcripts, which are usually not polyadenylated. Here, we developed "HIV-seq" to enable more efficient capture of HIV transcripts - including non-polyadenylated ones - for scRNA-seq analysis of cells from PWH.
