Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, 1 Gustave L. Levy Place, New York, IN, USA.
Background: Exit interviews with patients who completed the Phase 3 VIVID-1 mirikizumab clinical trial for moderately-to-severely active Crohn's disease explored the content validity of bowel urgency, stool frequency, and abdominal pain patient-reported outcome measures and perceptions of meaningful within-patient change and remission in these key Crohn's disease symptoms.
Methodology: Cognitive debriefing explored patient understanding of the bowel urgency numeric rating scale (Urgency NRS), Crohn's Disease Activity Index: Stool Frequency (CDAI-SF) and Abdominal Pain (CDAI-AP), and patient global rating/impression of severity/change (PGRS/PGIC). Perceptions of meaningful change and remission were explored qualitatively.

Department of Pediatric Surgery, Inselspital University Hospital, Bern, CH, 3010, Switzerland.
Background: Children often experience anxiety and pain during minor surgical procedures, prompting the search for effective pain management strategies beyond traditional pharmaceutical approaches. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of virtual reality (VR) as a pain reduction method in pediatric outpatient surgical interventions compared to the standard use of nitrous oxide. The research questions explore pain reduction levels, patient preferences, enjoyment during VR use, and the time limit of the VR application.

Introduction: Sleep deprivation (SD), stemming from a myriad of aetiologies, is a prevalent health condition frequently overlooked. It typically impairs memory consolidation and synaptic plasticity, potentially through neuroinflammatory mechanisms and adenosinergic signalling. It is still unclear whether the adenosine A1 receptor (A1R) modulates SD-induced neurological deficits in the hippocampus.

Introduction: This study aimed to determine the relative efficacy of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) or cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) in comparison to a waitlist control (WLC) for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Participants completed assessments before and after treatment and at 6-month follow-up.
Methods: Two hundred and sixty-nine participants with RA were recruited and randomised in a 2:2:1 ratio to MBSR:CBT:WLC.

Background: Existing research indicates that fear of progression influences the quality of life of patients with various diseases. However, the influence of fear of progression on the quality of life of patients with heart failure and its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to identify the link between fear of progression and quality of life in patients with heart failure and explore the multiple mediating roles of psychological distress and resilience in this association.
