Premature neonates are at particularly increased risk to develop invasive infections with excessive case fatality due to their low birth weight, enteral malabsorbtion, insufficient microbial defenses and underdeveloped anatomic barriers. We present a case of Moesziomyces aphidis (syn. Pseudozyma aphidis) fungemia in a newborn with severe morbidity and prolonged hospital stay.

Abdominal pain, one of the major symptoms of chronic pancreatitis, is believed to be caused by obstruction of the pancreatic duct system by stones or strictures. This results in increased intraductal pressure and parenchymal ischemia. Surgical decompression of the duct and ductal drainage can achieve best pain relieve and slow the progression of the disease.

Introduction: Malnutrition is a comorbidity oftenly seen in COPD patients who have progressive chronic inflammation and severity. In this prospective study, we aimed to determine the nutritional status of stable COPD patients and to investigate the impact of nutritional status on perception of dyspnoea, exercise capacity, body composition, hospitalisation and life quality.
Materials And Methods: COPD patients were assessed using previous smoking story, physical examination and irreversible airway obstruction.
Unlabelled: Improvement in the quality of life in Europe and North America in last decades caused that economical and social aspects of living conditions of the population have less effect and genetic defects of malabsorption of vitamin B12 became the main reason for cobalamin deficiency in children. Imerslund-Grasbeck syndrome (IGS) is characterized by vitamin B12 deficiency that leads usually to megaloblastic anemia and mild proteinuria. We described two pairs of siblings in two families with IGS.
